A business incubator is a business assistance program for new entrepreneurs that provides an inexpensive or shared office space and a number of services such as: administrative services, business consulting, and networking opportunites. Most business incubators house about a dozen start-up companies for their first few years before graduating to a larger office space. Businesses that participate in a business incubator program benefit from shared operating costs, access to early stage funding, and networking opportunities with other start-up businesses.

SFU TIME Ventures – SFU TIME Ventures is a partnership between Simon Fraser University and BC’s technology ventures industry. Simon Fraser University TIME Ventures offers a Vancouver downtown office space with resources for technology ventures, networking events, educational seminars, mentoring opportunities, a boardroom, and drop-in work space. SFU provides this office space to SFU TIME incubator participants, off-site business professionals, lawyers, investors, and others.

Wavefront – Wavefront is a not-for-profit commercialization centre accelerating the growth of Canada’s wireless and new media companies. Wavefront improves speed-to-market and delivery of mobile applications and devices by providing emerging companies with training, mobile industry advisory services, incubation office space and testing resources.
