Canada Business – Canada Business is a Government of Canada initiative that promotes entrepreneurship and innovation across Canada. Canada Business is a collaborative arrangement among federal departments and agencies, provincial and territorial governments and not-for-profit entities.

National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program – The NRC-IRAP supports small and medium-sized enterprises in Canada to develop technologies and successfully commercialize them in a global marketplace. This program has regional offices spread throughout BC to help local entrepreneurs build their businesses.

Small Business Internship Program – The SBIP provides small businesses the opportunity to hire a post secondary student for a 12 week period. The government will reimburse 75% of the cost of the student intern up to $10,000. The intern should be tasked to on e-business projects to improve the online competitiveness of the business.

Scientific Research and Experimental Development Tax Incentive Program – SR&ED is a federal tax incentive program, administered by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). The program encourages Canadian businesses of all sizes, and in all sectors to conduct research and development in Canada. SR&ED is the largest single source of federal government support for industrial research and development and gives claimants cash refunds and/or tax credits for their expenditures on eligible R&D work done in Canada.
